If you've downloaded the Netflix application onto your PS3, you'll find that when the application or Internet connection malfunctions, it's difficult to watch your movies. The PS3 needs an Internet connection to stream Netflix. While the 20GB model needs a cable to be connected to the Internet, the 40GB, 60GB and 80GB models can connect wirelessly as long as you have a Wi-Fi network in your home. Due to hackers who broke into the system and compromised credit card numbers and personal information, PlayStation shut down the Network and blocked access to Netflix until the system could be secured once again. Users could try a workaround in the first few weeks of the hacking, but then Netflix access was shut down until the PlayStation Network reopened and a Netflix update was released in June.

When you've recorded a piece of video, there's almost nothing more irritating than importing it to your video editing program and finding there's a high-pitched noise or other audio interference on the track. Fortunately, after all your hard work, it's good to know you always have the option of "fixing it in post." To get the highest number of filters and options to fix your audio, you'll need to use a quality video-editing program, such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro. These instructions assume you've already imported your video to your video editor and dragged the video/audio clip to the Timeline.

Click the clip you want to adjust to highlight it.

Click "Effects" from the menu at the top of the screen, and then click "Audio Filters," and then "Low Pass."

Select "AULowPass" from the list of available filters.

View the "Filter" menu that appears. Drag the frequency slider bar to a lower number. This reduces higher-pitched sounds, while at the same time leaving lower-pitched sounds alone.

Preview your new audio sounds by placing your cursor over the track and pressing the "Space" bar. You will hear a beeping sound since the audio is not rendered, but you'll be able to tell if your high-pitched sound is gone.

Select "Sequence" from the top menu, and then select "Render All," and then "Both" to render the new effect on your Timeline.

Move your audio to SoundBooth -- part of Premiere -- by selecting the audio track you want to fix. Click "Edit," then "Edit in Adobe Soundbooth."

Highlight a portion of your audio that contains the high-pitched sound, but no other sounds.

Click "Processes" from the top menu, and then "Capture Noise Print."

Select "Use Captured Noise Print." This will remove the audio from the sample high-pitched sound.

Click "Preview" to hear the audio track. You can now save your audio, and the saved edits will be automatically reflected in your video Timeline in Premiere.

Remove the Phillips screws from the outer portion of the console. Lift the upper cover from the console.

Remove the second layer of screws from the platter under the cosmetic cover to expose the innards of the PS3 console. Find the Blu-ray drive's silver-tone metal case.

Lift the drive from the inside of the console. Gently remove the small wire harness from the primary circuit board leading to the drive. Lift the drive from the case.

Flip the drive over, exposing the circuit board. Find the four corner screws and the single Phillips screw holding the circuit board to the drive.

Flip over the small circuit board off the drive's housing. Pull the small wire harness leading from the board to the drive.

Locate the remaining Phillips screws on the bottom of the Blu-ray drive. Remove them all and set them aside.

Separate the two halves of the drive housing. Locate the white disc retaining cap. Pull this free from the drive.

Separate the two plastic halves of the drive. The disc is now visible and accessible for removal.

Prepare your new Blu-ray drive by attaching the circuit board to it. Plug the wire on the bottom of the drive into the connector on the left side of the board. Next, attach the board to the bottom of the drive using the five screws that should be included.

Turn off the PlayStation and unplug it from the outlet. Wait about 15 minutes to ensure the residual electricity has discharged. Place the console on a table in front of you with the console's front facing you.

Remove the rectangular rubber bumper that covers the security screw. As you face the console, you will see it on the left side. Use a T10 Torx screwdriver to remove the single screw.

Slide the console's top cover to the left until you can lift it up off the console. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the seven screws along the top edge of the top half of the console case. Each screw is marked with an arrow pointing at it.

Grasp the rear edge of the top of the console, and lift it up and toward you to remove it. If the console has never been opened before, this might require quite of bit of force to release the metal clips that secure it.

Position the new drive in the drive bay on the right side of the console. Connect the data ribbon cable to the connector on the bottom of the circuit board and connect the power cable to the connector on the left side of the drive. Ensure the drive is properly aligned so the screw holes will line up when you replace the top half of the case.

Replace the top part of the console and gently press around the edges to seat it in place. Replace the seven screws that secure it to the console. Place the top cover onto the console and slide it to the right until it is secure.

Replace the security Torx screw on the left side of the console, and press the rubber bumper pad into place.

Tips & Warnings

Sometimes you can get lucky and find a broken Blu-ray drive for sale that still has the circuit board attached. Purchasing this is usually cheaper than purchasing a new circuit board by itself.

A few manufacturers sell new drives that include the circuit board.

Open your Internet browser and navigate to the download page for iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper. Click the "Download" button for a free trial download or "Buy Now" to purchase the full version software. Run the ".exe" setup file when download is complete and follow the on-screen installation prompts. Accept the program's terms of use and open iToolSoft Blu-ray Ripper.

Agree to the program's licensing terms and open Holeesoft Blu-ray Ripper.

Insert your disc into the Blu-ray drive on your computer. Click the "Load Blu-ray Disc" button in the upper left corner of Holeesoft Blu-ray Ripper to automatically load your disc in the program's main title list.

Click the "Profile" drop-down box and choose one of the high-definition H.264/AVC output formats. Press the "Settings" button to customize advanced settings such as bit rate, video codec and quality.

Press the "Browse" button next to the Destination field at the bottom of the screen to choose an alternate save location for your converted AVCHD video. Click "OK" or "Save" to return to Holeesoft Blu-ray Ripper.

Click the red "Start" button at the top of the screen to begin converting your Blu-ray disc to AVCHD format.
